I've decided to join the world of blogging so, "Hello world". I am Judith, a passionate Speech and Language Therapist. Since about the age of 12 I wanted to pursue a career in this field. Talking is simply one of my all time favourite things to do and I always had a burning desire to help others who for some reason find talking difficult. This blog is a platform where I want to share insights, reflections and tips from my 10 years as a Speech Therapist and also just life in general.
I am also a mother of two beautiful little girls aged 7 months and 2. Life with two children close together can be joyful, exhilarating and at other times extremely testing! I don't want to bore you with the ins and outs of our days but will be sharing some experiences all around the topics of talking, communication and interaction.
To all the parents out there, do you remember the first touch from your little one? There is something magical about holding that tender little hand for the first time. It is as if you are frightened to even tighten your grip as your precious child greets you in all their vulnerability. This first form of communication through touch is connection in one of the rawest yet profound ways. It is the first step in saying, "Hello world, I made the first journey of my life and it is ever so nice to meet you!"
That's my first little reflection that I wanted to share and hopefully there will be many more to come.
